The Boys of Winter Team wins 30th straight game!
In most areas, Softball ends around October and begins in March or April. But, not in Northern California - when the 2nd season begins and runs from October until April 1, where players must endure wind, cold and rainy weather. The League is called the Sierra Winter League and you must be 60 years or older to play. The average age on this team is 68. The League consists of teams from Fairfield, Vacaville, Folsom, Lincoln Hills, Placerville, and Sacramento. A schedule of 48 games is set - and weather permitting, hopefully most games scheduled are played.
This year's team consists of 14 players from Western Nevada County and 7 Flatlanders. The teams record for this year is 30 Wins and 0 Losses and 8 games remaining in the schedule. This year's Roster of Players have 70 World or National Titles, 53 Gold Medals from the World Senior Games, and 3 Hall of Fame Softball Players.
