Miken gets it right again! Unlike the Ultra II Advanced, the Ultra II MaxLoad (MSU2M red) is as good or possibility even better than the black Ultra II (MSU2). I think the stronger senior softball player will prefer the red MaxLoad Ultra II over the black Ultra II. Time will tell, but I am hitting the red one harder than the black one in testing. The black one has always swung an ounce or so lighter than it’s actual weight. This is not the case with the red Ultra. If you swing a 28 oz. in the black one you will most likely need a 27 oz. in the red one. The weight being further from the hands will make it swing slightly heavier. With the weight pushed to the other side of the sweet spot it should punish the ball a little more if the bat speed is equal. The only question is are you strong enough to keep the same bat speed with the red as the black? The black Ultra just feels a bit light for me where the red one feels more like the ASA and USSSA approved bats but with the extra 10 MPH exit speed that makes us all giggle when we hit it. The senior softball dugout has typically been lined with all black Ultra II’s and a Combat sprinkled in here and there. By this time next year, I expect to see half black and half red! The new Miken MSU2M red Ultra II is the best bat Miken has made since the MSU2 black Ultra II. So if the Black one feels like a toothpick to you then you are going to want to try the new red one. You will not be disappointed!!! This bat is sooooo much fun!!! Have fun out there and never stop hustling!!! Milli A Perfect Game
